Šodien, 20. aprīlī 2011. gadā, tika izveidots viroterapijas emuārs, lai vieglā, populārzinātniskā stilā pastāstītu Tev, Pasaule, kas ir viroterapija, kā tā darbojas un kāpēc uzskatāma par vienu no 21. gadsimta medicīnas svarīgākajiem izpētes virzieniem. Apskatīsim viroterapijas pirmo aktīvo, oficiāli atzīto  centru (Latvija) un sekosim līdzi bioterapijas attīstības līmeņiem citās valstīs. Jā, un, ja Tev, Pasaule, ir kādi jautājumi, droši uzdod tos!

Today, on April 20, 2011, the Virotherapy blog has been made. It is made for you, World, in order to explain what Virotherapy is, how it works and why it could be considered as one of the most important and developing directions of medical research in the 21st century. I will inform you about the first established Virotherapy center in the world (Latvia), and research development in other countries. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!

Health Project ”Be Alert!”

 

On May 3, 2013, a health project was launched under the name ”Be Alert!”.

 

Within the approaching Euromelanoma Day, Latvian Virotherapy Center in cooperation with beauty industry companies (hairdressing salons, aesthetic dermatology clinics, beauty care and massage salons, solariums, etc.) has launched a health project ”Be Alert!”. The beauty industry representatives are going to inform their company clients on a timely check-up of suspicious moles and skin formations.

 

 

Melanoma is one of the malignant skin tumour types, which is not sensitive to chemotherapy or radiation. In the treatment of melanoma, two types of therapy are used: surgery and virotherapy. Only timely diagnostics and treatment helps in the fight against one of the most aggressive cancer types – melanoma.

 

 

The project ”Be Alert!” invites to participate all Latvian beauty industry companies. Every company is going to receive a special sticker indicating the participation of the company in the project, as well as special business cards with information on where the client can learn more about melanoma and check-up possibilities.

Projekts “Esi Modrs!”

 

2013. gada 3. maijā tiek uzsākts veselības projekts ”Esi modrs!”

 

Tuvojoties Eiromelanomas dienai Latvijas Viroterapijas centrs sadarbībā ar skaistumkopšanas nozares uzņēmumiem (frizētavas, estētiskās dermatoloģijas klīnikas, skaistumkopšanas un masāžas saloni, solāriji u.c.) uzsāk veselības projektu ”Esi modrs!”. Skaistumkopšanas nozares uzņēmēji infomēs klientus savāsiestādēsparsavlaicīguaizdomīgudzimumzīmjuunādasveidojumupārbaudi.

 

 

 

Melanoma ir viens no ādas ļaundabīgo audzēju veidiem, kas nav jūtīga pret ķīmijterapiju un staru terapiju. Melanomas ārstēšanā izmanto 2 terapijas veidus: operāciju un viroterapiju.

“5 Cancer Practices That Must Stop!”

Five common cancer procedures and tests have been identified that are not supported by evidence and should no longer be used, according to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). One of them – chemotherapy.

“Oncologists should stop the unnecessary use of chemotherapy in patients with advanced cancers who are unlikely to benefit, and should limit their use of colony-stimulating factor (CSF) drugs in patients undergoing chemotherapy. They should also curb their use of advanced costly imaging technologies for staging of early breast and prostate cancers, and for detecting breast cancer recurrences.”

These recommendations, compiled after an extensive review of the literature and with input from more than 200 ASCO members, were published online April 3 in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
